About Sakonnet Tree Inc.

First light comes off the Sakonnet in long silver sheets, and by then the trucks are already down some farm lane with the chipper idling. Sakonnet Tree, Inc. is a landscape and tree service company working out of Little Compton, where stone walls run for miles through hayfield and oak wood and every tree leans a little with the salt wind. The days go to pruning and preservation, tree removal, stump grinding, plant selection and installation, ornamentals and fertilization, risk assessment, landscaping, stone work, and wall build and repair — and when winter shuts the lanes, snow removal. There is a plain satisfaction in all of it: a crown opened so the light drops clean onto the grass beneath, a fieldstone wall reset plumb and true, a drive pushed open before the house has stirred. The work stays behind after the trucks pull out, holding the shape of a place through another turn of the year.
