About Knapp Earthworks

The Queen's River keeps running under the ice all winter, a dark thread through Exeter's woods while everything above it goes white and still. Knapp Earthworks covers that same stretch of country with a blade on the front, clearing driveways, turnarounds, parking areas and the packed lanes that lead back to houses set well off the road. Out here a storm arrives as freezing rain as often as powder, and each one asks something different of the plow. The measure of a night's work is plain enough: pavement showing, room to turn around, a clear path to the door. Snow removal for a town where the nearest neighbor can be a quarter mile off.
