About Patriot Plowing LLC

December's first real snow tends to come to East Providence overnight, sifting down on the old mill roofs of Phillipsdale and the dark face of Omega Pond. Patriot Plowing LLC is a plowing business built for that hour, when Pawtucket Avenue lies empty and the only tracks are the ones a blade is about to make. Plowing well is a small art of its own: reading where a driveway crowns, angling the windrow away from the walk, keeping the apron open where the street plow loves to pile it back. Streetlights fade from amber to gray, the eastern sky thins toward morning, and the drive becomes a dark ribbon cut cleanly through the white. It is a modest victory, and a sweet one, repeated house after house until the whole street can head out.
