Local Snow Removal

About Local Snow Removal

Up in Rumford, a heavy afternoon snow muffles the falls at Hunts Mill until the Ten Mile River seems to murmur from under its new cover. The old brick of the baking-powder works and the houses around Central Pond fade by inches, porch rail by porch rail. Local Snow Removal wears its name plainly: a snow removal business based in East Providence, working the drives and walkways of the town it calls home. There is honest satisfaction in the pass that lifts a foot of powder off a driveway and stacks it in a tidy bank beside the mailbox. And when the storm breaks and low winter sun slants across the pond, a clear path to the road reads like an open invitation.
