ZF Outdoors is a Rhode Island hardscape and landscape company working out of Coventry, where the Pawtuxet's south branch slips past old mill-village streets and the land climbs west into stone-walled woods. The year runs long here: patios and walkways, landscape design and installation, mulch and fertilizer programs, lawn maintenance, spring and fall cleanups, tree work and removal, brush clearing — and then plow routes through residential and commercial drives once the reservoir goes gray and the roads need opening before daylight. What stays with you is the plainness of the result: a bed edged clean against the grass, a walk that lands right underfoot, a driveway cut wide and dark while the pines are still holding their snow.
