About Tamriel Lawns

The morning opens on a pull-cord and a held note — the mower catching, the trimmer settling into its high hum, a hand run through the grass to read its height before the first pass. Tamriel Lawns tends lawns in Coventry, Rhode Island, where the Pawtuxet valley runs west out of the old mill villages and the land climbs into stone wall, second growth, and the long green shoulders of the rail-trail. There is a plain, physical satisfaction in a yard finished: stripes lying square to the road, the edge crisp where turf meets walk, clippings carried off so the whole property looks minded. Late light comes down over Johnson's Pond and the dooryards hold their shape for the week — cut clean, standing even, ready to be done again.
