A nor'easter reaches Bristol from the southeast, up over open water, and by the time it crosses the Town Common the snow is coming sideways. Ramsay's Inc. works those hours — plowing driveways and lots, cutting walkways down to the concrete, sanding and salting the grades where meltwater runs back toward Silver Creek and sets up hard. Storms on this side of the bay rarely come dry; they arrive wet and packed to the curb, so each pass is laid to leave room for the next one. By morning the East Bay Bike Path is white and untouched, and the driveways along it are not. That contrast is the entire reason for the night.
