About Level Groundz, LLC

Before the streetlights give up, fog is still sliding off the Codorus and settling into the low lots downtown. That is the hour Level Groundz, LLC keeps in winter: headlights, a blade, and a parking lot turning from white to wet black in long straight passes. The work is snow and nothing else — driveways and lots cut open, walks and steps taken down to bare concrete, salt worked along the shaded curbs where ice holds on longest. Nothing about it announces itself; a surface that gives no one any trouble is the entire goal, reached while York is still asleep. The routes run through the city and the townships that ring it.
