About Jeffrey L. Fishel Grounds Maintenance

Snow in York township arrives on a slant, blowing up the long grades off Route 74 and settling into every lot entrance and loading apron between here and Dallastown. Jeffrey L. Fishel Grounds Maintenance looks after the ground under people's feet in that weather, plowing lots and driveways, clearing sidewalks and doorways, and applying salt where shade keeps ice past noon. Storms rarely stop at a convenient hour, so the route gets rerun through the night and again at first light. A curb cut opened, a doorway shoveled square, a walk that does not slide underfoot: small things, and the whole day rests on them. When the melt refreezes at dusk, the salt goes back out.
