About From The Ground Up

In Wolf Township the snow comes down off the Muncy hills and lies across the farm valley in one flat sheet — lovely until you have somewhere to be. From The Ground Up plows it back: driveways, farm lanes, parking areas, the walk to the door, and salt on the grades that glaze over after dark. A long rural drive is its own kind of problem — you decide in December where the snow goes so there is still room for it in February. The first pass runs early enough that buses and work trucks find the lane already open. Out here, that is the whole job, done quietly before daylight.
