Universal House and Lawn Care

About Universal House and Lawn Care

Midsummer in Williamsport comes in thick and green, the West Branch of the Susquehanna running low and bright below the levee while the heat sits over the flats in Newberry until evening finally lets go of it. Universal House and Lawn Care works those long afternoons — mowing in straight passes, trimming close along fences and foundations, cutting a clean edge where the grass meets the walk. There is a particular satisfaction in the last pass of the day, when the light comes sideways off the water and the lines on a lawn stand up like corduroy. Come autumn the maples let down everything at once, and it all gets cleared away so the yard goes into the cold bare and tidy. Spring finds the mulch going back into the beds and the borders opening up again. Same houses, same streets, the ordinary work of keeping a block looking cared for.
