Dennis' Lawn Maintenance

About Dennis' Lawn Maintenance

The old lumber money along West Fourth Street left Williamsport a row of tall Victorians, and every one of them sits behind a lawn that expects to be kept. Dennis' Lawn Maintenance works those yards and the newer ones out toward Loyalsock — weekly mowing, string trimming around iron fence posts and porch steps, a straight edge cut along the sidewalk. On August evenings the shade under the big street trees near Brandon Park comes early, and cut grass smells the way it only does in a river town in summer. Small things make the yard: the curb strip finished as carefully as the front lawn, the corner by the gate cut in by hand. When the leaves come down in October the same properties get raked and given one last low cut for winter.
