Anthony's Lawn Care

About Anthony's Lawn Care

South Wilkes-Barre is a neighborhood of double blocks and narrow side yards, where a lawn might be twelve feet wide and still be the entire front of somebody's world. Anthony's Lawn Care cuts those in midsummer heat, when porch shade is the coolest place on the street and the sound of a mower travels house to house like news. The work is close and particular: mowing tight to the front steps, trimming along chain link, edging the strip between sidewalk and curb until it reads as one straight dark seam. In spring the winter grit and matted leaves get raked out; in November the maples let go all at once and everything gets carried away. Small yards, done properly, add up to a street that looks cared for from the corner.
