About JHL Landscaping

Marshallton is a handful of stone houses, a bend in the road, and fields rolling away toward the Brandywine, and the lawns out there run right up against walls laid a very long time ago. JHL Landscaping tends that kind of ground — mowing and edging, trimming close to stone and post, fertilizing, and running spring and fall cleanups that leave beds and turf square with the season. Long country driveways make winter a different animal altogether, so the plow goes out for them, drives cleared end to end, walks shoveled, salt on the shaded curve where the sun never lands. There is a particular pleasure in watching a mowed lawn meet an old wall at one clean line. It is a small thing, and it makes a place look loved.
