Flowers and More

About Flowers and More

On a December evening Gay Street glows early, and every sidewalk in front of every door has to be walkable before the town wakes up again. Flowers and More handles that winter side of property work around West Chester: plowing driveways and lots, shoveling and clearing walkways and entrances, breaking up ice and laying salt where shade holds it long past noon. Borough snow is a tight-quarters art — nowhere obvious to put it, cars parked close on both sides, steps dropping straight down to the pavement. Doing it right means arriving in the dark and leaving one clean line from curb to door. Then the streetlights come on again and it looks as though nothing ever happened.
