Couture Grounds

About Couture Grounds

Summer takes its time in the blocks around Marshall Square Park, where old shade pools on the sidewalks by mid-afternoon and every front yard is small enough that a single missed edge shows. Couture Grounds keeps lawns on those streets, cutting in long parallel passes, trimming close along stone steps and iron fence posts, and carrying the clippings off instead of letting them wash into the gutter. In a wet Chester County spring the grass climbs fast and the mowing rhythm tightens; by August it eases and the blades come up a notch. When the canopies let go in October, the leaf work is what hands a front walk back its outline before the first hard frost. A borough street comes to look cared for one yard at a time, and that is the whole ambition here.
