About Laurel Awning Company

Grant Avenue wakes early in a snowstorm — shop doors, a bank of parking, sidewalks that have to be walkable before anybody unlocks anything. Laurel Awning Company handles the snow side of that morning in Vandergrift: plowing lots and drives, clearing walks and entries, spreading salt where the shade keeps ice stubborn all day. Storms come down this valley in bands, so the work is rarely one pass; it is checking back, cutting the drifts down again, keeping the pavement honest. There is real pride in an entrance that looks like the storm simply skipped it. When the last squall runs off east, the street is open and the town gets on with its day.
