About Murray's Landscaping, Inc

Cobbs Creek draws the eastern edge of Upper Darby, and the streets that climb back from it — stone twins, narrow drives, front lawns about the size of a good rug — are where Murray's Landscaping, Inc spends its year. Through the warm months the work is mowing and edging, a clean line laid along every porch step and sidewalk seam, the smell of cut grass hanging over Garrett Road in the long evening light. Come winter the alarm goes off well before the El starts running, and the plow is out opening driveways and lots while the township is still dark. Salt goes down in the shaded stretches where ice holds on past noon and nobody expects it. It is ordinary work done with care, and the reward is a neighbor stepping out onto a walk that is simply, plainly clear.
