About Erie Custom Exteriors

Lake Erie lies off to the north of Union City, and everyone here learns to read the sky in that direction, because a gray band building over the water can be six inches on the ground by supper. Erie Custom Exteriors runs snow work under those bands: plowing driveways and lots, shoveling walks and steps, spreading salt wherever ice decides to set up. The craft is mostly timing, getting out ahead of a squall instead of chasing it, so a morning that could have been a fight becomes just a drive to work. Banks are stacked with the next storm in mind, because in this corner of Erie County there is always a next storm. Some years the bare ground does not show itself again until March.
