Barnes Lawn & Tree Service

About Barnes Lawn & Tree Service

Southern York County runs out of hills just past Stewartstown, where the farm lanes tip down toward the Mason-Dixon line and Maryland begins without much ceremony. Barnes Lawn & Tree Service works those slopes: mowing lines drawn straight across ground that would rather roll, edges cut clean where lawn meets gravel and gravel meets corn. Come winter the same ground turns slick under Piedmont freezing rain, and the plow goes out to open driveways long before the school buses feel their way down Route 851. There is a plain satisfaction in a walk shoveled and salted down to bare concrete and a yard that looks combed. Season to season it is the same errand — make the ground behave, and make it look like it was never any trouble.
