Level Acres Landscape & Nursery

About Level Acres Landscape & Nursery

Very little around Springs is level. The village sits high in southern Somerset County, not far from Mount Davis, the highest ground in Pennsylvania, and winter up here tends to come early and linger long. Level Acres Landscape & Nursery, a landscape and nursery business, shifts to snow removal here once the cold season turns. Storms on this plateau can arrive sideways on a late-afternoon wind, filling a drive nearly as quickly as it can be opened. Keeping pace takes steady hands: blade down, lines straight, a clear run between the road and the barn or the back step. When the wind finally drops and the night clears hard and bright over the snowy farm fields, the lanes lie open and smooth.
