Terrapin Stone & Garden

About Terrapin Stone & Garden

Old fieldstone walls run through this part of Delaware County, and in winter they hold a cap of white long after the roads have gone dark and wet. Terrapin Stone & Garden works the Springfield storms — plowing driveways and small lots, shoveling steps and walks, laying salt where ice keeps finding its way back. Snow in the lower Delaware Valley is rarely light; it arrives dense and only gets heavier by the hour, which makes an early start the whole game. There is something worth taking pride in about a drive cleared to the pavement while the streetlights are still burning. By the time the neighborhood stirs, the path is already open.
