About Al's landscaping

October in Wernersville: sycamore leaves down the sidewalks, woodsmoke on the air, the light going gold by four o'clock. Al's landscaping spends that month on cleanups, pulling leaves off lawns and out of beds, putting down a last mow, cutting edges back so a yard heads into the cold looking deliberate. The warm months are the mowing and trimming rounds through South Heidelberg Township's neighborhoods and the properties out along the older roads. Once winter arrives the work turns to plowing driveways, clearing walkways and salting the shaded stretches that refuse to melt. Little of it is glamorous; all of it shows.
