Late May in the Cumberland Valley brings a green so thorough it seems to rise straight up out of the limestone. Eagle Valley Scapes spends that season keeping lawns in Silver Spring Township on the right side of lush — mowed at a height that holds through a dry week, trimmed clean around posts and beds, edged where turf meets stone. Between the old farm fields and the newer streets the work is the same: give a yard its shape back and let the grass do the rest. Mulch goes down when the beds open in spring, leaves come up when the maples let go, and the lawn carries the year in between. It is plain work, and it shows from the road.
