Shrewsbury holds the last high ground in York County before the Mason-Dixon line, and storms that top that ridge arrive with their minds made up. C.M. Ayres Enterprises takes the early half of those nights, plowing driveways and lots along the Susquehanna Trail while the open farm fields east of town are still filling in. Wind here has nothing to slow it down, so the salt goes where it will do the most good and the passes get repeated until the drifting gives up.
