About Woolsey Site Works

February on the Pike County ridges is a long argument between the road you just plowed and the next squall coming up the Delaware valley. Woolsey Site Works takes the winter side of Shohola, plowing driveways and lots, opening the steep gravel approaches that glaze over first, shoveling walks and doorways, putting salt down on the doorsteps and turnarounds. Storms here do not announce themselves politely; they stack behind the ridge and drop, and the answer is a truck moving before daylight and a second pass once the wind fills things back in. The pride in it is simple: a bare drive, banks pushed back square, a house that can reach Route 6 and go on to Milford as though nothing happened. Then quiet again, snow loading the hemlocks and the creek loud beneath its ice.
