About Dontom Contracting Co

Snow finds the steep parts of Shamokin first — the alleys, the hillside pitches, the drives that leave the street at an angle no one would design on purpose. Dontom Contracting Co works those places in the dark, plowing, opening walks by hand where a blade can't reach, salting the grades so morning isn't an adventure. Coal-region winters are long and stubborn, and ice in the shadow of the hill outlasts nearly everything. Getting a driveway down to bare surface, right out to the edge, is the whole standard. Anything short of that just refreezes by dawn.
