About D1 Contracting & Lawn Care

Out toward Keyser Valley the old workings have gone quietly back to green, and grass now covers ground that once held nothing but grey. D1 Contracting & Lawn Care tends the living version of that — steady mowing across the west side, edges cut in, the trimmer taken around every post and pole. There is a particular pleasure to the first cut of May, when a lawn goes from shaggy to sharp in an afternoon and the smell of it rides home in the truck. Fall brings the other half of the year: leaves off, beds cleared, the yard set down neatly for the cold. Scranton grows things back if you give it the chance, and a well-kept lawn is the plainest proof of it.
