Roaring Spring

About Roaring Spring

Winter nights in Roaring Spring go quiet enough to hear the mill at the edge of town and the water running under its skin of ice. When the snow comes over Tussey Ridge and fills the cove, Roaring Spring is out ahead of the morning — plowing driveways, opening lots, clearing sidewalks down to bare concrete and salting everything the low sun will never reach. Blair County weather has a habit of softening at noon and hardening again by dusk, so the job does not end when the plow blade lifts. Getting a household out to Main Street without one slipped step is the honest measure of a night's work. Storm after storm, the same drives and the same walks get the same attention.
