About The Driveway LLC

Snow in Elk County does not visit, it moves in — squall after squall off the plateau until the hemlocks along the Clarion River are bent white and the driveways are gone. The Driveway LLC does what the name says around Ridgway, opening long forest lanes, borough drives and turnarounds so a truck can get out and the road plow's ridge doesn't trap anybody in. Plowing, pushing the banks back wider as the winter piles up, clearing walks and the path to the woodpile. Up here an open drive is not a convenience, it is the difference between going to work and staying put. On a still morning after a storm, with the valley quiet and the pavement showing dark, the job looks like exactly what it is. Ridgway, Johnsonburg, St. Marys, and the roads between.
