A nor'easter comes up over Neversink Mountain slowly and then all at once — the wind turns, the streetlights go woolly, and Reading disappears into itself. Blizzard Wizzards is out in the middle of that, running plow routes while the storm is still writing itself across Berks County. Driveways get cut open, walkways get cleared down to the concrete, and salt goes where the afternoon melt will refreeze by four in the morning. By the time the city wakes and the ridge shows up again out of the gray, most of the work is already behind them. Winter is loud around here; the answer to it is simply being out in the middle of the night.
