B&K Excavating

About B&K Excavating

Fog lies along the Allegheny most mornings here, a soft white seam between the water and the hills, and it burns off just about the time the first mower starts. B&K Excavating keeps lawns across Rayburn Township — the flat river-bottom yards, the ones tilted up toward the ridge, the long grass that runs out to a fence line. Mowing, trimming, edging: work that is simple to name and satisfying to see finished, the way a yard looks wider once the lines are laid straight. There is real pleasure in the last pass, when the clippings are blown off the walk and the border along the drive reads sharp as a pencil mark. Armstrong County summers are generous with rain and the grass answers; the answer to the grass is showing up. Kittanning to Manorville, the same attention goes into a half-acre yard and a hilltop both.
