About Damian's lawn an landscaping

Punxsutawney sits in a bend of Mahoning Creek with its streets climbing out in every direction, so half the yards here are really hillsides that agreed to become lawns. Damian's lawn an landscaping mows those grades in May while the ground is still soft, keeps the trimming close where retaining walls step down, and cuts bed edges so the mulch has somewhere to stop. On a slope the eye reads every line, and a crooked one shows all the way from the road. Twice a year the property gets cleared out — winter's litter raked from the corners in spring, the beds opened again once the leaves are down. Working Punxsutawney and the hollow roads around it, the aim is a yard that looks deliberate from the bottom of the hill.
