Corle's lawn care

About Corle's lawn care

There is an hour in June when the light slides down the valley sideways and every yard in Punxsutawney turns the color of new money. Corle's lawn care works that hour and the ones on either side of it — mowing in clean passes, trimming tight along fences and foundations, edging until the walk has a line you could follow in the dark. Down on the flats by the water, where the old rail bed runs out of town, grass comes up fast and wants a steady hand more than a hard one. Autumn brings the other half of the year: the cleanups, the beds emptied, the lawn handed back tidy before the cold. It is plain work, carried all the way into the corners.
