About Burf's Sales & Services

In Port Allegany the Allegheny River is still young — narrow enough to hear from a back yard, quick where Potato Creek slips in to join it. Burf's Sales & Services mows and trims through the long green middle of the year, working the flat lawns near the water and the sloped ones that climb away from Route 6. August evenings stretch out gold across the borough, and a lawn cut in that hour holds its lines right up until dark. When the maples begin to let go there is leaf clearing to do and beds to tidy before the valley shuts down for winter. The pleasure of it is plain: grass down, edges honest, a yard handed back looking cared for.
