Verardi Landscapes

About Verardi Landscapes

Late light in Bloomfield falls sideways down Liberty Avenue and lands in the small back yards behind the rowhouses. Verardi Landscapes keeps those pocket lawns, and the wider ones over in Friendship, mown and trimmed close to the fence lines and garden beds, with a clean edge where grass runs up against the alley pavement. City yards get cut into odd shapes by garages and stairs, so each one is worked by hand as much as by machine. Spring means clearing out what winter shoved into the corners; November means leaves, bag after bag of them. The result is modest and deeply satisfying — a green square held in the middle of a brick neighborhood.
