PJ & SONS TREE SERVICE

About PJ & SONS TREE SERVICE

Pittsburgh grows its trees on a slant. Yards drop away behind the houses on the hillsides above the Monongahela, and a silver maple that started as a volunteer in old fill can end up leaning its whole weight over a porch roof and a set of brick steps. PJ & SONS works those grades — tree removal where a trunk has outgrown its footing, trimming and pruning to lift crowns off gutters and service lines, and storm damage cleanup after a summer cell comes up the river and snaps the tops out of the locusts. There is real satisfaction in a rope set right: the limb goes where it was meant to go, the porch stays untouched, and the wood comes down in tidy rounds. By evening the lawn is clear, the sawdust swept off the walk, and the light coming into the yard is wider than it was that morning.
