About MPK Landscaping

An ice storm has a sound, the tick of freezing rain on a porch roof at two in the morning, and in Penn Hills and Verona that sound means the phone is about to ring. MPK Landscaping goes out into it, plowing driveways, opening the ends the borough plow packed shut, spreading salt on the walks and steps where the glaze is worst. A Pittsburgh winter can turn a driveway into a slope of glass by Tuesday and bare pavement by Thursday, so the work stays watchful rather than scheduled. Clearing a hillside drive on the east side comes down to angles and repetition, one push at a time until the blacktop shows. The finish line never changes: a car that can get out, and feet that stay under a person.
