Mile High Services

About Mile High Services

Up on Mount Washington the wind gets here first and the snow arrives sideways, and the streets behind Grandview run narrow between parked cars. Mile High Services works that height in both directions, plowing and shoveling the drives and walks in winter, salting the steps that fall away toward the incline tracks, then mowing and trimming those same lots once the hillside greens over in May. Grass on a pitch like this is cut across, never down, and the borders along the retaining walls get their own attention. Leaves come off in November with the whole city laid out below and the rivers going pewter in the cold. It is a fine place to work and a demanding one, which are frequently the same thing.
