Daroco

About Daroco

Three in the morning along the Allegheny, fog sits low on the water and the snow comes through it in slow, fat flakes. Daroco is already moving, plow down and hopper full, working the drives and walkways of Millvale, Etna and Sharpsburg while the river towns sleep. These flats flood in spring and freeze hard in January, and the streets caught between the hills and the water hold cold far longer than a forecast suggests. There is something plain and steady about finishing a lot at that hour with nobody watching. By seven it simply looks like an ordinary clear morning.
