About Benvenuti Landscaping and Reconstruction

Downtown Wheeling keeps its grass in small measures — a strip beside a brick sidewalk near Centre Market, a courtyard behind a storefront, a corner lot with an old iron fence around it. Benvenuti Landscaping and Reconstruction takes those pieces seriously at midsummer, when the valley holds its heat all afternoon and the pavement gives it back until evening. Mowing, trimming and edging on tight ground is a matter of angles and patience, and the payoff is a square of green that looks intentional against all that brick. Cleanups clear the clippings out of the gutters and away from the doorways so a block reads tidy end to end. In a city this vertical, the flat little lawns are the ones people notice.
