About Donald Pell Gardens

Late August, an hour before sundown, and this corner of Chester County goes amber — grasses backlit, shadows stretched across a lawn, everything at its fullest right before it turns. Donald Pell Gardens works toward moments like that: lawn care and garden upkeep around Phoenixville, mowing to an even sweep, edges cut so turf and beds each know where they stand, mulch worked in, and the seasonal cleanups that let a garden open and close the year cleanly. The rolling ground here, stitched with old stone and hedgerow, rewards restraint more than fuss. Spring is a fast unfolding and fall a slow one, and the routine bends to both. The aim of all of it is simply this: ground you want to stand in, in whatever light the day is offering.
