About Sanchez Landscaping

Philadelphia keeps its green in pieces — a square of yard behind a rowhouse, a corner lot where the street bends, the long shoulder of grass that runs down toward the Schuylkill. Sanchez Landscaping works that patchwork, mowing, edging and trimming, giving a ten-foot front strip the same attention as a wide lawn out toward the city's edge. Summer here comes up humid off the rivers and the grass answers overnight, so the route never really stops moving. There is a real pleasure in a straight edge cut against old brick — the line that tells a passerby someone has been here. And when the plane trees along the avenues let go all at once in October, the leaf work begins and the block gets its walks back.
