Pequea sits where the creek meets the Susquehanna, on hills that drop hard to the water and lanes that switchback down toward the river's edge. Snow on that ground is a different problem than snow on a flat street — grades, gravel, tight curves with nowhere to push, driveways that are really half hillside. Hutchinson Excavating clears them: plowing drives and lots, opening turnarounds and access lanes, pushing back banks and spreading salt on the pitches where a car would otherwise start sliding on its own. The river makes its own weather up these hollows, and a squall off the water can whiten a road in twenty minutes.
