Winter arrives here off the water: wind funnels up the Susquehanna gorge, and by four in the morning the ridge roads above Muddy Run are drifted and blue. Peach Bottom Lawn Care is out in it, plowing drives and lots, shoveling walks and spreading salt so the first cars of the day roll out onto bare pavement. Come April the same ground softens and greens, and the work turns to mowing, trimming and cleanups across the township's farms and homesteads. Two seasons, one place, learned by driving it in every kind of weather.
