Derail Lawn and Tree Service

About Derail Lawn and Tree Service

In southern Chester County the January dark holds still until the first plow scrapes it open. Oxford township runs on long farm lanes and mushroom-house drives off the Octoraro, and every one of them has to be passable before the day starts moving. Derail Lawn and Tree Service works snow here — the plowing, the widening of a lane so a truck can turn, the walk cut clean to the door, the salt laid down where wind stripes ice across the blacktop. There's a particular satisfaction in the last pass of the blade, when the drive is one clean gray ribbon and the banks stand square on both sides. By the time the sun comes up over the hedgerows, the day can begin on time.
