McBride's Blue Collar Construction

About McBride's Blue Collar Construction

Fog fills the Cumberland Valley most mornings in October, and by the time it burns off the road toward Carlisle the grass is wet, the air is cold, and the season has quietly changed hands. McBride's Blue Collar Construction follows that turn each year — mowing, trimming and edging while things are still growing, then switching to plowing, shoveling and de-icing once the first real storm comes down the valley. Newville is a small grid of streets ringed by open farmland, which means a tight in-town driveway one hour and a quarter-mile lane the next. Both get done end to end, because a half-cleared drive is no drive at all. The good part is standing back afterward: an edge cut sharp in summer, blacktop showing dark and wet in January.
