Irons Mill Farmstead

About Irons Mill Farmstead

New Wilmington keeps a slow pace — brick streets, a college at the corner, buggy tracks pressed into the snow on the roads out toward the Neshannock. Irons Mill Farmstead turns to snow work when the fields go white, plowing driveways and lots, opening lanes, and clearing walkways by hand. A farmstead is already awake in the dark, so the truck is out while the storm is still finishing. Lanes are cut wide enough for a truck and a buggy to pass each other, and the glaze that forms overnight is treated before anyone is on it. By the time the town is moving, the ground is clear and the work looks like it never happened.
