About Allegheny Winter Services, LLC

Cold comes down this valley from the northwest, squall after squall off the lake, and by four in the morning the river is smoking fog and the whole town has gone white and silent. Allegheny Winter Services, LLC is already moving in it. Plows on the driveways, shovels on the walks and steps, salt laid at the bottom of every grade where the melt runs and refreezes. Storms in the Allegheny Valley rarely fall politely — they stack, they turn to ice, they come back the following night — so the work runs on seasonal routes rather than single visits. The reward is a street of open drives at first light and nobody late for anything.
