Funk's Lawn Care

About Funk's Lawn Care

When the courthouse clock strikes noon in October, the maples along New Castle's older streets are already halfway down. Funk's Lawn Care spends those weeks on leaves — the last cuts of the year, walks and drives blown clear, the piles hauled off before rain can mat them into the turf. In the green months the route is mowing, trimming and edging, week in and week out, with the beds mulched once frost is finished. There is a particular pleasure in a lawn put to bed properly: cut short, cleared, and ready for whatever the Ohio Valley sends next. It wakes up better in spring for it.
